VISITING PROFESSORSHIP Each year the Department of Medicine invites a prominent minority physician, scientist or national minority leader to be a visiting Professor at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The Professorship includes opportunities for the department’s leadership to meet with the honoree and the minority faculty to discuss issues related to URMs in academic medicine. The honoree also meets with housestaff and fellows. One of the highlights of the visit is when the visiting Professor gives Medical Grand Rounds. Visiting Professors This year's Fourth Annual Visiting Professorship, sponsored by
the Department of Medicine's Diversity Council, is scheduled for April
20-21, 2006. We welcome the honored recipient for 2006, Jackson T. Wright,
Jr., MD, PhD, FACP who is Professor of Medicine and Program Director of
the General Clinical Research Center, as well as Director of the Clinical
